Movie Review: The Cabin (2018) By DanXIII on November 20, 2018 in Horror , Indie , Movies , Review , Reviews , Slasher Hey I got a new one for ya; a couple heads to a secluded cabin and encounter terror…and by new I mean absolutely the most tired trope out there. Film Review: The Cabin (2018) Todd Martin 01/08/2019 Film Reviews. Dirigida por Johan Bodell en 2018. I enjoyed it in the end, but probably won't recommed it to people unless they are. I think it's a good book, not great. Personally, I thought the last chapter was a little bit unnecessary to the story and it was written like an afterthought to the book. Always buried in a book and a glass of wine. | This book.... Wow I can't even describe it... OH. Please tell me it gets better? It's not even comical anymore, just a waste of the viewers time and money. Dreadfully boring. | I really liked Natasha Preston's "The Cellar", but this book was just an o.k read. 86 min Thanks to SOURCEBOOKS Fire and NetGalley.). I WAS gonna give this book 3 stars, some parts made me consider 4 (it fluctuated), but the ending killed it. The Cabin at the End of the World is Tremblay’s personal best. The characters are the stereotypical mix that you come to expect from horror movies and fun, fast reading thrillers. Natasha Preston’s latest entry has the hallmarks of a locked-room mystery. My vote is two. Rather than being concerned about finding her best friend's killer, the main character kept fantasizing about a guy she had just met the night her friend died. She kept making terrible choices and several times, I wished I could've shaken some sense into her. One minute the protagonist is upset by the dead bodies of her friends and then the next she is head over heels in love. The ceaseless bickering between the two leads during the first part of the movie is just annoying, not compelling in anyway, just something you have to suffer through so that the plot can get them to the point where they meet the psycho-killer. I loved the acting, the story and screenplay. The cinematography in this movie was incredible. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Neither the murder mystery, the characters, or even the romance angle made this very memorable. A weekend cabin trip, two dead bodies, and a killer on the loose; sounds like good bones for a good read, right? A young couple visit a remote cabin in the woods but on the way meet a suspicious stranger who holds a murderous secret. In this day and age, why is it so difficult to make an authentic horror movie without being stupid, unbelievable, and cheap? I've been trying to think of something to say about this book for at least 5 minutes now and I honestly don't know what to say. A young couple visit a remote cabin in the woods but on the way meet a suspicious stranger who holds a murderous secret. And the locations/filming are good. GOD. The ending is so predictable and the protagonist does very little to even uncover who is the true murderer. (Source: I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read-to-review basis. And I have only seen 30 minutes of the film so far. Has some nice locations and it has a one debt camera work. I should've known better. I enjoyed it in the end, but probably won't recommed it to people unless they are only interested in a calm thriller. Verified Purchase.
